Anniversary Projects

Next Monday marks the two year anniversary of my boyfriends and I being together. Since neither of us has very much money, I decided it as time to figure out cute little ideas of things to make him. I have now accomplished the task and made four different gifts and some essentials. The first of these, well the first two are washcloths that I knitted from some yarn I had lying around the house. Here are some pictures of the washcloths.
Everyone can use an extra washcloth, so it is a great gift to make. It is definitely a time consuming project though, so don't try and knit an entire washcloths a few days before you want to give it to someone.
After browsing the internet in search of ideas to make, I came across two that caught my interest. The first of these is "10 Things."
The person whose original post I found, did this project for her spouse on Valentine's Day. To make both of the outside covers, the front and the back, I used cardboard. Each page is 4x6. I just used a box that was going to be put into the recycling bin at my house. Then I painted the cardboard, on both sides, using some acrylic paint that I had lying around. For the inside pages it was easiest and the best way to just use images that reflected each of the ten things.
In addition to writing the reasons, I added some stick on bubbles that I had to add to the fact. It is important to keep in mind to not write too close to the edges of the paper, since they may get punched when you add the rings.
I also realized that it is important to vary where you place the picture on the 4x6 card. Switch sides, left and right, as well as optimizing both the top and bottom area. It allows for the creativity to flow more and also can appear as though you put more time and thought into the design.

The last project that I decided to do was a common one using a deck of cards. Mine was entitled "52 Reasons I LOVE YOU." To reinforce the cards, I placed packing tape over the print-outs and allow for them to last longer and hold up better.
I will admit that I had plenty of brain farts, during an exhausting evening in which I scrambled around on the internet to search for ideas. This did lead me to having multiple brainstorms in which I was able to thinks of the things in which my boyfriend loves most and that makes him even more lovable.
I am not able to eat very much red meat and for the most part ALL men love to eat meat. He was always looking up ways in which to cook meat so that it would be healthier and that we would both be able to enjoy the food. It is also just luck that both of us have the same favorite vegetable, lima beans, I know it is a weird choice but it works.
He makes the best pillow. We often watch movies together and sometimes...I fall asleep and wake up at the end of the movie. I can't help it if I am comfortable with him, it just makes things even better :)I am horrible at making decisions, in fact I am sure that it often times gets on my boyfriend's nerves and annoys him. But being able to withstand it also means that he loves me the more. I am trying to work on the decision making but it almost seems like a habit and well everyone should know that habits are extremely hard to break. There is a silly little story that goes along with this reason. My best friend and I were trying to figure out a reason to determine if the guy that you date is the one for you. That is we realized that not everyone's hands and fingers interlock perfectly. It was a bright idea that if your fingers fit perfectly together, they must be the one for you. It was an wonderful find the first time that my boyfriend and I held hands, they fit perfectly together. That is the amazing love story and where it all began.

So as I try to figure out how to wrap all of the presents as well as ways to add a special touch to each of them, I will debate as to whether or not I will continue to write often or not. I am getting tired and...ope, my boyfriend just got out of class :) So now I must go grab my golden spoon from the fridge and curl up in front of my laptop to yet another Cary Grant movie.
