Anniversary Projects

Next Monday marks the two year anniversary of my boyfriends and I being together. Since neither of us has very much money, I decided it as time to figure out cute little ideas of things to make him. I have now accomplished the task and made four different gifts and some essentials. The first of these, well the first two are washcloths that I knitted from some yarn I had lying around the house. Here are some pictures of the washcloths.
Everyone can use an extra washcloth, so it is a great gift to make. It is definitely a time consuming project though, so don't try and knit an entire washcloths a few days before you want to give it to someone.
After browsing the internet in search of ideas to make, I came across two that caught my interest. The first of these is "10 Things."
The person whose original post I found, did this project for her spouse on Valentine's Day. To make both of the outside covers, the front and the back, I used cardboard. Each page is 4x6. I just used a box that was going to be put into the recycling bin at my house. Then I painted the cardboard, on both sides, using some acrylic paint that I had lying around. For the inside pages it was easiest and the best way to just use images that reflected each of the ten things.
In addition to writing the reasons, I added some stick on bubbles that I had to add to the fact. It is important to keep in mind to not write too close to the edges of the paper, since they may get punched when you add the rings.
I also realized that it is important to vary where you place the picture on the 4x6 card. Switch sides, left and right, as well as optimizing both the top and bottom area. It allows for the creativity to flow more and also can appear as though you put more time and thought into the design.

The last project that I decided to do was a common one using a deck of cards. Mine was entitled "52 Reasons I LOVE YOU." To reinforce the cards, I placed packing tape over the print-outs and allow for them to last longer and hold up better.
I will admit that I had plenty of brain farts, during an exhausting evening in which I scrambled around on the internet to search for ideas. This did lead me to having multiple brainstorms in which I was able to thinks of the things in which my boyfriend loves most and that makes him even more lovable.
I am not able to eat very much red meat and for the most part ALL men love to eat meat. He was always looking up ways in which to cook meat so that it would be healthier and that we would both be able to enjoy the food. It is also just luck that both of us have the same favorite vegetable, lima beans, I know it is a weird choice but it works.
He makes the best pillow. We often watch movies together and sometimes...I fall asleep and wake up at the end of the movie. I can't help it if I am comfortable with him, it just makes things even better :)I am horrible at making decisions, in fact I am sure that it often times gets on my boyfriend's nerves and annoys him. But being able to withstand it also means that he loves me the more. I am trying to work on the decision making but it almost seems like a habit and well everyone should know that habits are extremely hard to break. There is a silly little story that goes along with this reason. My best friend and I were trying to figure out a reason to determine if the guy that you date is the one for you. That is we realized that not everyone's hands and fingers interlock perfectly. It was a bright idea that if your fingers fit perfectly together, they must be the one for you. It was an wonderful find the first time that my boyfriend and I held hands, they fit perfectly together. That is the amazing love story and where it all began.

So as I try to figure out how to wrap all of the presents as well as ways to add a special touch to each of them, I will debate as to whether or not I will continue to write often or not. I am getting tired and...ope, my boyfriend just got out of class :) So now I must go grab my golden spoon from the fridge and curl up in front of my laptop to yet another Cary Grant movie.

Life, Love, and school work

Life is some. Love is none. School work is a ton.

Life includeds both love and school work for me.

Love for my Grandma who passed away on Thursday the 1st of November. Really sad to be away at school when this happened and even worse that I had to stay at school until Saturday morning due to training for work. At least I was able to go home though.

Less than 7 months later my Grandad also passed away. Everyone says that most spouses do not survive more than a year after the passing of their loved one. I never wanted to believe this saying. Especially when my Gram had outlived her husband by almost 9 years. It was crazy to imagine that it was even possible.

There are some coinsidences between the deaths. Well...I guess I could compare them both to my Gram when she passed away. My Gram passed away on November 2nd which is a very close day to the 1st. I thought it was interesting that it was that close in date to eachother. When my Granddad passed away he had just had a birthday party. That is probably the most memorable time before he did pass away. My Gram had also had her birthday party the year that she passed away. It is almost ironic that these cases both took place around deaths.

I was scared when my Aunt decided to give my Grandad a surprise party. I almost immediatly thought of the fact that my Gram had thrown herself a party the year before she passed away. These are all weird coincidences that all fit together. It may be God's plan for that to all happen. I know that everything that happens for a reason, but some reasons are just scary to think about.

Life as a Sophomore!

Life is so much better as a sophomore. I feel so much more independent. My mod here at APU is like a mini home. We have a living room and everything. The only difference is that I am still living on campus which helps lower the cost of things a little. My roommates are amazing. So far so good. We have had no real big complications ... unlike last year *cough* cough*. Even though I was just a freshman last year it seems as though it was forever ago. Now all I have left is like 3 more years until I graduate and get out of here!!!

That is being hopeful though. I still need to determine my major which I am hoping to do within the next couple of weeks or so. All of my classes are still general ed. classes which means that I am going to be taking mostly my major classes next semester and so forth. My RA is very perky and sweet. She had us all gather ingredients and make a giant pazooki. Although it was a little salty it was still really fun. I still have a list of T.V. shows up by the T.V. so that everyone knows what I would prefer to watch. It is amazing how many of the shows I would like to watch overlap.

Apparently I am not a highlighter and pens/pencil collector. I do not know if that is really true although I do like to highlight a lot of things. Partially to make it colorful so that I will be able to read things better. It makes the different areas stand out. I made sure that I highlighted all of my sillubi and that was a lot of fun and colorful. I think that when I am usually coloring, I would rather color with highlighters than with markers. Which may explain why I like to do crosswords a lot. Now if I could only get as motivated for doing my homework and reading the bible as I do for highlighting that would be amazing.
There are not many downfalls for being in a house like structure except for the fact that when everyone leaves and you are the only one in the "house" it seems so empty. It is very interesting to make more of my own food in college now. Last year it was like every meal that I needed to eat on campus...mainly to make sure that I used up all of my meals (which I ended up running out of.) So yeah, that is basically what is going on in my life now. I will try and Blog more often this year. Which will more likely than not be on Fridays since it is not a day that I want to be doing homework but it is still a day.

Late nights...

I can not even remember the last time that I went to bed before 12, well it was probably that weekend that I went home or maybe before I left for school...either way it has been a really long time. My "normal" bedtime now is about 2 am in the morning. I hate going to bed that late and then having to wake up for eight o'clock classes. I never want to have this many eight classes anymore.
My roomate always gets to go to bed before me and I am so jealous. It is almost annoying that she goes to bed so early. I guess that is only since I stay up late and have way more homework to do. Oh yeah, FYI I have a ton of hw to do this week so if you could pray for me that would be great. Well, I could be in bed right now except that I decided to write this now...I think if I go directly to bed after this it will be like the first time in a long time, not including weekends, that I have gotten 6 and a half hours of sleep. That seems like nothing but to me it sounds like heaven.
Last night was by far my worst night in college yet. I had so much homework and I do not even think that I finished all of it. Luckily I have nice and understandable teachers otherwise I would be in so much trouble. So anyways, I did not go to bed until like 2:30 which was late, but not expecially late for me. But then my friend and I woke up to go and eat breakfast in the morning before our eight class, which turned out to be not what we wanted it to be but that is besides the point. So I woke up at like 6:30 and did some homework and then got ready to go get breakfast.
I thought that I would be fine and not get tired, which I was right. (Weird less sleep equals more awake more sleep equals less awake.) I was fine in most of my classes as long as I made myself stay awake I was fine. The funny class was Exo/Deu at 4:20. I had gotten an icee and then took it to class and I was so crazy. If anyone of you have seen my eat a Halls and then yeah you know what I am talking about. Anyways I was laughing the whole class and people thought I was on drugs or something...which I am not. It was so funny, although now I need to see what I didn't learn in that class and figure out what it meant. So yeah, today has been a pretty good day for me and I am excited to try and finish all my homework this week and to try and run in Walk/Jog tomorrow. Only four laps, I can do it. That is all for me now. I am going to try and write a Blog as much as time allows me to or when I need a break and need to vent. Yeah me, and for all those that love it, "BAM WOOSH YAY!!!"

Bam Woosh Yay!!!

I don't know why my Blog Tile is like that...but it is really bothering me. Anyways, in case you can't read it it says, "Bam Woosh Yay!" Ugh that is still bothering me, but I need to get over it like now. Ready, break! O.K. Wow, totally ignore all that I just wrote. It was writing in Hindu for some reason and I just had too, well anyways it is fixed and you don't want to read about those stupid problems.

O.K. so my friends and roomates say that I watch way too much T.V. I would have to totally agree, but they are all really great shows. Like yesterday at my Alpha meeting my friend asked me what my favorite show was of all the ones that I watch and it was really hard to decide which was my favorite. My suitemate told me how whenever she comes into my room I am either watching T.V. or on the computer watching a show that I missed. I mean I am glad that I have that available, but I need to spend more time on my homweork and less time on watching T.V.
So that is something I need to work on and making sure that I do not stick myself in my room just to watch stupid T.V. shows. School is going well and I am hoping to get a job soon...that's all for now.
